How do I get a quote?
Use the quote form, call 021 634 549 or email hayden@meila.co.nz. Send your project details, the quantities, the MPa you need, and any plans or engineering specs. We will go through them with our plant engineer and plant manager and come back to you.
What should I include in a concrete quote request?
Your project details, the quantities, the MPa you need, and any plans or engineering specs. If you are not sure of the mix, tell us the job and we will recommend one. We do not publish prices — every job is priced on the quote.
What grades do you supply?
Foundations and slabs up to 25 MPa. Hardscaping and other non-structural work can be any strength — the mix is assessed against the required strength and spec. Structural or engineered work above 25 MPa goes through our plant engineer, with a sample taken from every truck and sampling costs charged to the customer. Send the engineer’s specification when you request a quote.
Do you supply concrete for foundations and house slabs?
Yes. We supply foundation and slab concrete up to 25 MPa, to the project and engineering requirements. Send the engineer’s specification with your quote request and we will go through it with our plant engineer and plant manager.
Do you supply concrete for driveways, paths and patios?
Yes. Driveways, paths, patios and other hardscaping can be any strength — we assess the mix against the required strength and spec. Tell us the job and we will recommend the grade. Grades and typical uses are on the Mixes page.
Can you supply engineered concrete?
Yes. Structural or engineered work above 25 MPa goes through our plant engineer, and we work through the mix and supporting documents with them. A sample is taken from every truck, and sampling costs are charged to the customer. Send the engineer’s specification with your quote request.
Does hardscaping above 25 MPa need the engineered route?
No. Hardscaping and other non-structural work can be any strength — we assess the mix against the required strength and spec. The plant engineer route, with a sample from every truck, is for structural or engineered work above 25 MPa.
Who pays for sampling on engineered concrete?
The customer. On an engineered pour a sample is taken from every truck, and the sampling costs are charged to the customer.
What mix do I need for a driveway?
CCANZ IB 80 guidance for residential driveways starts at 20 MPa or stronger. Traffic, finish and site can push that up. Tell us the job and we will recommend the grade.
What mix do I need for a house slab?
Whatever the engineer specified. Under NZS 3604, slab-on-ground minimums are often 17.5–25 MPa by exposure zone (engineer/SED can go higher). Send the spec with the quote, including slump if it is written down.
Who looks after quality at Meila?
Production is overseen by our plant engineer and plant manager. They prepare our mix designs, give technical direction to the plant, and review batching records, quality documentation and test results on an ongoing basis. Samples are taken regularly for testing. More on the Quality page.
What has QLDC confirmed about Meila’s concrete?
The Queenstown Lakes District Council Building Consent Authority (QLDC) has accepted and confirmed that the concrete standard being supplied by Meila Limited is in compliance with the New Zealand Building Code requirements.
I do not know the volume.
Give us the length, width and depth, or a rough m³. We can help size it. Better a conversation now than a short load on the day.
Do you deliver to my address?
We batch and deliver concrete throughout the Queenstown Lakes and Wakatipu area. Send the address and we will say yes or no quickly. More on the Service area page.
Does Meila deliver to Arrowtown, Jack’s Point and Lake Hayes?
Yes. We batch and deliver concrete throughout the Queenstown Lakes and Wakatipu area, including Arrowtown, Jack’s Point, Kelvin Heights and Lake Hayes. Send us the site address and we will confirm the day and the truck. More on the Service area page.
Do I need a pump?
Only if the truck cannot get to the discharge point. Steep, tight or lake-edge sites often do. Say so on the quote and we can help arrange a pump. We are not the pumping company.
How much notice do you need?
If the pour is this week, call. Tell us the date you want and we will say if we can take it.
What happens on the day?
We batch at the Queenstown plant, truck to site, and leave a docket with the load. Someone needs to be there to accept it. You need a washout plan that stays on your site.
Can you do coloured or exposed concrete?
Yes when we can source the oxide or aggregate for your date. We will confirm before you commit to a colour.
Do you publish prices?
No. Every job is priced on the quote — mix, delivery and any extras.
Do you charge a fuel adjustment?
Yes. We add a separate Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) per m³ delivered, shown as its own line on your quote and invoice. The current rate and how it works are on our FAF page. You can also sign up there for email alerts when it changes.
How do I pay / what is the minimum load?
We will confirm price, minimum load and payment terms on the quote.
